What We Do

The Power of Possibility

Future Possibilities for Kids (FPK) works to involve, inspire and empower Kids to develop their own aspirations and dreams for themselves and their communities through leadership training and ‘possibility thinking’. FPK defines ‘possibility thinking’ as ‘the belief that anything is possible.’ With this belief, there is no limit to what Kids can do in their own lives and in the lives of others both now and in the future.

Through our unique ‘KidCoaching’ volunteer model Kids aged 8 to 14 years are supported to put their possibility thinking into action through the development and delivery of Kid led community action projects. Kids receive Kidcoaching support on a one to one basis or in group based activities. FPK targets our work within underserved and/or disadvantaged geographic or social communities.

Key Learning and Skills Development in FPK Programs:

Possibility Thinking inspires Kids to think bigger and imagine the possibilities for change and accomplishment in their own lives and that of our their communities. Optimism is a key aspect of positive healthy child development and is essential to fostering commitment to bettering our communities.

Key Learning and Skills DevelopmentLeadership and Life Skills are very important to helping Kids become better students, better employees and great parents. Key skills development in FPK programs include resilience, communication, public speaking, negotiation, goal setting, teamwork and confidence building.

Social Awareness helps Kids to develop a better understanding of their world and enables them to find out about more about the social supports available to them and their families. Fostering juvenile philanthropy is also key to ensuring that we have active, caring citizens in the future.
